Course, classes and lessons - get to grips with the differences
When you want to sell a course on Youandx, there are a few more things to keep track of than if you want to sell lectures, workshops and coachings. We'll go over it all in this article.
What is a course - and how is it different from the other forms of benefit?
Unlike the other forms of benefit, a course can have specific dates. For example, as a supplier, you can say that you hold a course once a month.
This is different from, for example, lectures that you give at the request of a specific company.
What are classes and lessons?
The course itself has a title, price, description, etc. An example might be:
- Title: Excel Course
- Price: 10.000 DKK pr. person
Each class is a collection of lessons that a person can sign up for. For example, if the excel course has 3 lessons, an employee can sign up for 3 lessons at once by signing up for a class.
Team example:
- Title: August, Copenhagen
- Consists of 3 lessons
Each lesson includes an address (can be physical or online), as well as a start and end time.
Specific example
I want to do a course on agile project management with Scrum. I therefore create a course with a title, description, price, etc.
Below you can see what this will look like for my customers.
My colleagues and I will host the course in Nordhavn, Aarhus C and Odense from 6 March to 9 March 2023. So these are the 3 teams that I create. Below it is again seen how it will look for my customers.
Each team has 4 lessons. My clients can expand each of the classes to see exactly where and when each of the lessons takes place.
When my clients book a course, they can choose which of the classes they want to book for.
Note that in this case, all the teams have the same event dates, but I might as well choose some other dates for the same location.
